Another work week survived

And so, I begin another four days [read: nights] off from the doldrums of my job. It’s quite boring, you see, so I have to keep myself occupied for 12 hours at a time. This can be difficult for someone with mild ADD.

Today, the postman brought me two doggie bag cuts from http://www.fabrics-store.com. A one yard cut of 6oz “limoges” blue, and a one yard cut of 7oz white canvas. They are destined to become a bodice in the future. Hopefully sooner vs later.

I have 3 ~25lb boxes of grommets coming my way soon. I managed to get them for the cost of shipping. It’s a mixed assortment. The seller says it was a shipment from some large company that delivered to the wrong address and didn’t want them back. I’m hoping there’s more in the way of costuming sized grommets vs tent sized grommets. Either way, I can make use/sell/give away.

I also finally won what looks to be the Viking Husqvarna sewing machine I’ve been trying to nail down on eBay for the past month. Right after I made a poor newbie $330 for a 6430 with all the extras, Metal found a Buy It Now (same model, condition, accessories) for $150. Life is good. Now all I have to do is get the broken and abused one I got from a previous eBay seller returned and refunded, then I can sell one of my lower grade Singers to a co-worker, and everything will be good. The eBay seller turned out to be local, and I picked it up in person. I asked her if there as anything seriously wrong with the machine if I could return it. She agreed, but didn’t think anything was wrong with it. Hehe. Little did she know. The stitch length and direction is broken: it only does microscopic stitches in reverse, and that’s IFF the feed dogs decide to work.

Let’s see, we watched Batman Begins (eh), and Star Warts:ROTS (good, but dialog was awful). Now to watch War of the Worlds, and I think we’ll be caught up on the blockbusters for the past month or two.

More anon. My Lover is preparing our evening meal. :)
